Nice job on the longest run ever.

Wow - very long run, you are really getting up there!

If you can run 18.75 miles, you can run 26.2 - no doubt about it! Ice those knees and you'll be fine. Great run!

Hey, you need to update your running accomplishments with your latest 1/2 marathon time!

First of all, congrats on your longest run ever! Of course it was tiring. Yes, you can absolutely run a marathon. This was just probably an "off" day if it felt bad. We all have them. On an "off" day it is hard to get myself to go 5 miles let alone 18! With a nice taper and race day excitement, you will most certainly be able to complete a marathon!

Very nice Eric.

Thanks guys. Still feel tired and having some hard time getting down the stairs, but I'll living another day!

18.75 to 26.2 is still a long distance specially if you are getting tired, so still have to work on those long runs. In 15 days we will try a 32k run.

I don't think you should read much into your legs being tired after your first 18.x miler suggesting you can't run a marathon.

When I started doing 18+ mile long runs it took a fair amount of time before I was not sore the next day.

If you go by percentages you ran 18.75 miles which is 70% of a marathon, so the jump to marathon is like going from 10 miles to half marathon, but as the distance is longer it seems worse.

You have the right approach of initially doing long runs at a slower pace (you mentioned you ran with a group before) since it will help your body adapt more easily.

Keep up the good work!
