Long term...mmm...hard one, just continue running and having the luck a running races to keep on the edge, every so often.

i don't have an answer, but i can empathize. i deal with the same thing when i'm in the thick of training. it seems like that is when the body should be able to sleep the best -- when you are constantly working it and making it tired. but it's the exact opposite for me. i'm sometimes up for 2-4 hours at time, 1-3 nights per week. wide awake. it's very frustrating.

i think stress is a big factor in a lot of cases, but everyone is different. maybe you just need a new pillow? :)

new pillow or bed maybe. Yeah, after a very hard workout I find it hard to sleep, just can't release the muscle into a lethargic recovery mode, they keep calling attention and keep waking one up. If this continue, may ask doctor for some easy going sleeping pills.

Been under lots of stress this year, I'm sure it is not helping. The funny thing is I fall asleep within 60 seconds after my head touches the pillow (my wife hates this since she can't).
